Computerized Analysis & Treatment
Chiropractic Science at it’s Best!
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT
The Pulstar FRAS (Force Recording & Analysis System) is used as an analysis tool as well as a treatment modality. The Pulstar utilizes precisely controlled, low force, multiple impulses to provide a gentle joint mobilization. This unique computerized noninvasive fixation imaging system allows your doctor to accurately and objectively locate and correct spinal joint fixations. The methodology is to obtain a measure of the compliance of each vertebra or segment of the spine under evaluation. This measure is obtained by applying a low energy impulse to each portion of the spine sequentially.
HOW IT WORKS
In the analysis mode, the Pulstar tests each vertebra by generating a gentle mechanical impulse (light tap) and uses a sensor in the impulse head to measure each vertebra / bones resistance to the impulse.
When all vertebra are moving normally, their resistance is fairly equal, however, if some of the vertebra are restricted in motion (fixated / subluxated), their resistance to the impulse is higher than the resistance of normal moving vertebrae. Normal movement of each and every spinal joint is considered to be essential to good spinal function.
Once a joint is determined to be fixated, the Pulstar may be used to give small, gentle, mechanical thrusts into the restricted joint to help breakup fixations, relieve muscle spasm, and restore normal joint mobility.
A series of these treatments may be necessary to obtain maximum benefits.
Precision and gentleness are the key notes to the Pulstar System’s popularity and appeal.
With this devise, there is no need to utilize neck rotation or what people associate and are often fearful of – neck popping!
FDA Clearance
The Pulstar has been reviewed by the FDA and approved for the use in musculoskeletal pain due to joint fixation / subluxations, as well, general restricted joint mobility, myofascial spasms, ligamentous strain and for tissue analysis.
WILL THE PULSTAR ANALYSIS & TREATMENT HURT?
If you are in extreme pain, almost any invention or treatment device may cause some degree of temporary discomfort. Most of the patients find both the analysis and treatment with the Pulstar produces a pleasant sensation and many patients prefer the Pulstar treatment and analysis to more aggressive manual adjustments.
WHAT DO THE PULSTAR COMPUTER GRAPHS MEAN?
In addition to just telling you that you have a problem and that your Chiropractor is taking care of your condition, the Pulstar analysis graphs enable your doctor to show you accurately why and where the treatment takes place, as well as the effects of your treatment after the treatment is completed.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
The Pulstar is very gentle, but in very rare cases people who bruise easily and suffer from capillary fragility may experience very slight bruising or soreness following the Pulstar treatment. Should this happen to you, please let your doctor know so that the amount of thrust pressure can be reduced on subsequent visits.
WILL USING THE PULSTAR COST MORE?
The Pulstar System is relatively expensive, but your Chiropractor is dedicated to providing the best care possible and has made the investment in the advanced technology in order to maintain his level of commitment to your health care. There is no extra cost to the patient for Pulstar treatments.
VALIDILTY AND DOCUMENTATION
The Pulsar System generates increased levels of validity and documentation because the testing produces objective evidence of the patient’s status not available by other means. This can be very helpful when insurance coverage and legal evidence are involved.
